En una sociedad donde los obreros sean copropietarios de su propio trabajo, no se darÃan casos como los de: las Galletas Maria, Cross, Banesto, etc. Algún dÃa, cuando la globalización haya arruinado al Planeta, quizás surjan hombres con otro sentido de economÃa, responsabilidad y amor al prójimo, como lo practicó Durruti.
Su actuación en la Guerra Civil Española
Al estallar la Guerra Civil en 1936 fue uno de los principales protagonistas de los sucesos revolucionarios de julio y promovió la creación en Barcelona del Comité Central de Milicias Antifascistas de Cataluña, organismo que en la práctica detentaba el naciente poder obrero en Cataluña. Encabezó una columna de milicianos enviada al Frente de Aragón y en noviembre de aquel año marchó a Madrid a contener la ofensiva de las tropas sublevadas (batalla de Madrid).
Cuando se encontraba en las proximidades del Hospital ClÃnico de Madrid (ocupado por los sublevados) fue herido mortalmente por un disparo cuya procedencia no está muy clara, existiendo diversas hipótesis sobre el origen de la bala que le hirió. Mientras algunas versiones afirman que fue disparada accidentalmente por su propio "naranjero" (versión española del subfusil Schmeisser MP28 II) otras apuntan a que pudo ser asesinado por agentes estalinistas debido a su defensa del poder obrero revolucionario surgido tras el 19 de julio. No obstante, la versión del accidente es bastante verosÃmil, por cuanto el citado modelo de subfusil carecÃa de seguro y podÃa disparse por un simple golpe de la culata contra el suelo.
Estudios sobre Durruti
Buenaventura Durruti es una de las grandes referencias del anarquismo español. Existe abundante literatura sobre su figura, siendo el estudio más significativo la obra de Abel Paz Durruti en la Revolución española (Madrid, Fundación Anselmo Lorenzo, 1996), con un estudio de J.L. Gutiérrez Molina. En 1999 se llevó a cabo una producción cinematográfica hispano-francesa titulada Buenaventura Durruti, anarquista.
